This is probably not the best day for me. I just found out at the last minute that one of my assignments was mysteriously lost in cyber space. Not very fun to redo my work. But I did get more review on the notes.

Today I had to avoid my clients’ phone calls and focus on my study. After all this is the reason why I’m here for. I want to learn as much as I can so I may generate good business in the future.

Yesterday we learned something quite interesting. One of the statistics showed that by the time a university student reached his fourth school year, whatever he learned on the first year would be outdated.

Our world is spinning so fast. If you don’t catch the moment in time you’d likely to loose the opportunity to be success. How scary and true that is!

A month ago I was asked to make a small catalogue for a friend, Sandy, who makes ceramic bisques as a side business with her friend, Bonny. The business has been growing and they needed some print materials showing customers their work and products. I took the opportunity and suggested that I would offer to develop a web site for them as a school project. They loved the idea!

My son, Colin, a young teen, who is passionate about photography and video production, also got excited with our very first customer of web design. He took many product shots for the catalogue and we had such of fun doing it. Who says teens are hard to get along with?

I look forward to the completion of the course as well as Sandy’s web site. :-)

Hello!

October 18, 2007

Hi! I’m here to share some of my thoughts. Perhaps I’ll also share some of my sample work later on.

I’m a 2D computer graphic designer with some photography experiences. I used to work with printers closely. Although I don’t have a fine art background, I love what I do. Either it’s a paying job or a volunteer work I enjoy most of them.

I’m now taking courses learning about new media design and web development. That is why I’m here writing my first blog. Hopefully this experience will open up my 2D world into this exciting new media universe.

So… let the show begins.
